    Quickly & transparently explained…

    Provider change (porting)

    DUStel starter

Number portability (import) of one or more of your phone numbers to dus.net is free of charge. The same applies to the transfer of your telephone number(s) held by us to another provider (export). However, for up to ten ported numbers, an annual administration fee of EUR 5.00 (incl. VAT) is charged for the DUStel starter. This amount is valid for one or up to 10 phone numbers. Example: A phone number is ported = EUR 5.00/per year. 5 numbers are ported = EUR 5.00/per year for all.
!!! For existing customers the administration fee does not apply !!!

    DUStel business flex

The transfer (import) of one or more of your phone numbers and also of phone number blocks to dus.net is free of charge. In the DUStel business flex rate, however, monthly charges are incurred per local network number. Single numbers and number blocks of up to 50 are charged at EUR 0.42 per number, larger blocks (e.g., 70 or 100) at EUR 0.36. This means that for a 30 number block, with or without an interrogator, EUR 12.60 plus VAT would be charged. VAT per month, for a block of 100 EUR 36.00.

    DUStel complete

With DUStel complete, there are no porting costs or administration fees for up to 10 numbers. In this case, everything is already covered by the basic monthly fee.

    General information

The local network reference must continue to exist even after porting. It is not permitted to transfer numbers from one local network to another local network if the customer simultaneously changes his or her place of residence or place of business.

The date of the change of provider is always determined by the supplier and usually goes hand in hand with the end of the contract term. During the term of the contract, numbers are not released prematurely by the terminating provider. The only exceptions, if any, are for VoIP-only providers or if you have made a special arrangement with your old provider.

Removing individual phone numbers from a contract is usually only possible with pure VoIP providers. Providers such as Telekom or Vodafone do not allow this. These providers only surrender the telephone numbers in their entirety or individually if the remaining numbers are discontinued at the same time, and only in connection with line termination. Of course, it is not possible to separate individual telephone numbers from system connections or telephone number blocks.

    new local telephone number

New local network numbers are charged with the DUStel starter tariff with a one-time fee of EUR 9.90 and an annual fee of EUR 4.90 (both prices incl. VAT). With DUStel complete, up to 10 local network numbers are already included in the monthly base rate and are thus covered. In the DUStel business flex rate, there are no one-time charges, but there are monthly charges per local network number.

The local network reference must also be present for new local network numbers. Numbers can only be obtained from the local network of the place of residence or company headquarters (or branch office or temporary residence).

In the case of newly activated numbers, it is not possible to export the number to another provider until at least 3 months after the number has been activated.

    Payment options

Our DUStel starter prepaid rate is based on credit. Here, credit must be topped up in order to be able to make calls. The recharge can be done by normal bank transfer, Paypal, Giropay, Klarna sofortüberweisung or by direct debit (also automated). Of course, the direct debit requires a valid SEPA direct debit mandate.

The recharge happens with Klarna sofortüberweisung, by direct debit and with Giropay in real time, with Paypal only from the second payment. Automated recharge by direct debit is not a real-time application. Here, the current account balance is only ever queried at night and topped up if necessary.

Public institutions and authorities that do not support SEPA direct debit are of course billed by invoice.

Our DUStel complete and business flex rates are postpaid rates and require a valid SEPA direct debit mandate. The call charges incurred in a month are billed within the first few days of the following month, together with the basic charge for the then current month, and collected by SEPA direct debit.

Public institutions and authorities that do not support SEPA direct debit are of course billed by invoice.

    Faxing

All of our tariffs offer extensive faxing capabilities. Incoming, of course, a local number is required. With the free fax-to-email function, incoming faxes are directly converted into a PDF document on our system and delivered to you via email. In the paid PREMIUM version, special software is used to further increase reliability.

Outgoing faxes can be uploaded and sent directly as PDF documents via the Customer Center. Another very convenient option is the email-to-fax function. Here you send a fax via your eMail client with the PDF document attached. The subject is fixed and the fax number is entered as the recipient (faxnummer@fax.dus.net).

For those who prefer the classic fax machine or for those who still need to use one, the T.38 protocol is available. Getting fax signals through an Internet line without interference is not always crowned with success. The problem is that fax machines are hardly fault-tolerant. Even the smallest disturbances can lead to a complete abort.

The T.38 protocol digitally processes the fax signal and “corrects” errors so that both fax machines remain stable in transmission. If no T.38 is supported on the other side, at least the path from you to our server or vice versa is “secured” in terms of quality.

    TLS & SRTP encryption

Encryption with TLS or with TLS & SRTP is basically possible in each of our tariffs. However, your SIP endpoints must also support this. By default, encrypted telephony at dus.net always uses TLS (for the SIP packets) and SRTP (for the media stream). Some SIP endpoints may only be able to do TLS without SRTP. In this case, you can simply disable support for SRTP on a per-connection basis in the Customer Center.

It is also important to know that encrypted telephony ends between beyond your terminal and our SIP server. The transfer to the fixed network, mobile network or VoIP network of other providers is then unencrypted. By the way, this also applies to call forwarding or group calls within dus.net. Here, encryption is no longer technically feasible. I.e., the activated encryption between our server and your terminal device takes place, but not beyond that when the call is forwarded to third party terminals.

More technical information and necessary settings can be found here.

    Safety functions

Full emergency call functionality is of course provided. Calls to 110 and 112 always reach the appropriate control center in your locality. However, it should be noted here that a correct emergency call function is no longer possible when using the telephony in a normadic way. If, for example, you use your private “home phone number” in a hotel in another city, the emergency call you make would of course reach the control center in your place of residence and not the one in the place where you are actually located.

The security functions we also provide are diverse and extensive. This allows you to limit calls in terms of time(security limit) and cost(credit limit). You can block incoming calls via the blacklist or allow only selected incoming calls via the whitelist. A destination network share restricts your outgoing telephony if desired. Here you specify which destinations are allowed, e.g. only Germany-wide destinations or only Germany-wide destinations without the 0137 alley. Or simply allow all European destinations, with fixed networks and/or mobile networks as well.

Customers with a fixed IP address also have the option of separating outgoing calls via IP address restriction. Only INVITEs from IP addresses or IP networks entered there are accepted by our SIP server.

    Call forwarding & group call

    Call forwarding

With call forwarding, you determine what exactly should happen after no one has answered your phone or your phone is offline. You can define up to 10 forwarding destinations (group) in total, two of them can even be external destinations. Or you don’t want your phone to ring at all then simply set up instant call forwarding.

    Group call

With a group call, your telephone always rings together or in parallel with the configured forwarding destinations (group) and is thus part of a group.
With call forwarding, the actual call destination (your phone) is upstream of the group (the forwarding destinations), whereas with group calling, all call destinations (your phone and the forwarding destinations) are the same.
The SIP port on which the group call is set up should therefore definitely have a terminal registered in this scenario.

    General notes

The call forwarding and group call is always set up SIP port related. One or more phone numbers are then assigned to a SIP connection via routing. If other SIP connections are to be defined as destinations (internal destinations), then the user name (000387xxxx) is entered as the destination and not the phone number assigned to the SIP connection.

If a call forwarding or group call is already configured on the SIP port that is to serve as the destination, this SIP port cannot be a forwarding or group destination. Forwarding behind a forwarding is not possible. The same applies to the group call or to a mixed operation of both functions.

    CLIPnoScreening

You do not need this function if you want to transmit your own telephone numbers switched with us as CLIP. This function is intended exclusively for transmitting third-party phone numbers. A possible scenario would be, for example: A customer calls you on his cell phone. On your PBX, you now want to forward this call to your own cell phone. To transfer the caller’s cell phone number, you now need the CLIPnoScreening function to allow the transfer of the phone number.

For liability reasons, the activation of this function requires a written agreement, which you must sign and send to us. You will receive this on request or directly with the order, if this feature is desired.

    ACD system

For the DUStel business flex rate, you can optionally add a real call distribution system (automated call distribution, queuing system), called DUSqueue.

The DUSqueue is mainly used in order acceptance or support hotlines. Via a central order or hotline number, all callers are first “parked” in a queue and remain there until an employee (agent) connected to the system answers the call. The agent logs onto the system to be part of the support team and logs out when they finish their work. The booking can be done from anywhere, e.g. from the employee’s home office.

The queue system DUSqueue offers a multitude of setting options and also allows you to individually use music on hold or announcements when the queue is open or closed. For a perfect evaluation, extensive statistics are also available. There, all calls are counted, totals and average values about waiting times are calculated and much more.
